Carlos joined Oligo Factory in February 2026 as a Laboratory Scientist Contractor and officially with the company as Scientist II, Platform & Process Development in June 2026. He specializes in nucleic acid purification, laboratory automation, and downstream process development supporting therapeutic DNA and RNA technologies.
Prior to joining Oligo Factory, Carlos served in research and development roles at AbbVie and CSL Seqirus, supporting the development of mRNA, self-amplifying RNA (saRNA), and circular RNA (circRNA) therapeutics. Before transitioning into R&D, he held clinical and commercial manufacturing roles at Moderna and Nitto Denko Avecia, supporting GMP production of RNA therapeutics and oligonucleotide drug substances. Carlos began his industry career in July 2021 at Nitto Denko Avecia.
Carlos holds a Master of Science in Applied Biotechnology from the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, a Master of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Plymouth State University.
